Running the Zoo

I’m glad the internet tubes led you to my site. I’m a junior at Brown University making a first stab at internet presence. I hope my site is two parts interesting for every part informative.

At this point, my studies have settled into an assemblage of physics and modern critical philosophy. I’m focusing on modern critical theory, a “subject” that is pretty resistant to containment. I spend a good deal of my time reading about semiotics, epistemology, Marxism, psychoanalysis, and (post)structuralism. I’ll also cop to having an appreciation of postmodernism and some (vulgar) cultural studies.

I’m trying to learn about constitutional law right now. If you know something about that, I’d love it if you would clue me in. Also art, but not too much old stuff.

I like physics, but I’m not too good at math. It makes things kind of difficult.

The 2008 election has solidified my addiction to news and politics. If you share my admiration of Barack Obama, addiction to The New York Times, and fascination with Sarah Palin check out my blog.

When I’m not reading, I like to explore. I’m trying to conquer the elements; so far I ski, hike, run, and scuba dive.

About Nick Werle

I never got a senior quote into my high school yearbook. I’ll put it here instead, though I’m not sure how it will play.

“Those not busy being born are busy dying.”
